Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how personal information submitted through this website, for Principal's Concert 2026 ticket and merchandise purchases, VIP registration, and event check-in, is collected, used, and protected, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who We Are
The organiser of Principal's Concert 2026, in partnership with the University of Pretoria, is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with this site, we may collect: your name, surname, title, email address, and mobile or WhatsApp number; ticket, seat, and merchandise selections; a delivery address, if you choose mailed merchandise; dietary or accessibility requirements you choose to share; and payment confirmation references from our payment partners. We do not collect or store your full card number — card and bank details are captured and processed directly by our accredited payment gateways (iKhokha, Ozow, PayFast, PayGate), not by us.
3. Why We Collect It
We use your information to process and confirm your ticket or merchandise order; deliver your ticket and order confirmation by email and/or WhatsApp; manage check-in at the venue; respond to enquiries; and comply with our financial record-keeping and legal obligations. We do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your separate consent, and any marketing-style communication, such as reminders, includes a way to opt out.
4. Who We Share It With
We share the minimum information necessary with our payment gateways, solely to process your payment, and our SMS/WhatsApp and email delivery providers, solely to deliver your ticket and notifications. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise trade your personal information to third parties.
5. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and access controls limiting who on our team can view your details. Payment card data is handled entirely within our payment gateways' own secure, PCI-compliant environments.
6. Retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above and to meet our legal and financial record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; object to, or request deletion of, your information, subject to our legal retention obligations; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your information has been mishandled.
